That makes total sense. You’ve clearly put in the work. Most people reach this point because they want something that finally works long-term, not another short-term fix.
The setup here is designed specifically for people who want that permanent solution but also want to know they’re in safe, experienced hands.
We work a little differently than other providers I’ll point out a few of those things for you. Everything we do is all-inclusive, meaning once you arrive, there’s nothing extra to worry about.
You’ll have your own private hospital room inside a hospital that’s completely specialized for bariatric surgery, not a general clinic.
Your post-op medications are included, so you won’t need to find a pharmacy or pay for anything out-of-pocket.
You’ll have access to our nutritionist for free for guidance before and after surgery.
We’ve completed over 10,000 successful surgeries with our top board-certified bariatric surgeons, and every package comes with our All-Inclusive Guarantee which means what we quote is exactly what you pay. You won’t get a bill in the end like you will with other companies.
Patient: “You know I really like this…. I just don’t have the budget for this.”
You: “Yea that’s not a problem.. Tell me if you did have the funds… is this something that would work for you?”
Patient: “Yea I really do”
You: “Why do you feel like it would though?”
Patient: “Well because you mentioned the great support and the X and the Y and the Z…”
You: “Well I can appreciate that money can be an issue for you… how do you think you can resolve that to where you can find the funding so you can lose weight?”
Patient: “XXX”
You: “What other avenues do you have where you could find the funding so that you can get the surgery?…”
Patient: “ Yes or I don’t know.” (Stop if yes and schedule)
You: “Can I make a suggestion? What I can do is walk you through some of the ways our other clients come up with the funding so that you’d be able to have surgery.”
Patient: “Sure.”
You: “Other patients that are serious about wanting the surgery have used one of out 3rd party financing partners or scheduled far enough out with the small $300 deposit and then make payments because they are so serious about wanting to get the surgery. Does it make sense to do one of those options?”
Patient: “The price is too expensive.”
You: “That’s not a problem, when you say it’s too expensive, what do you mean exactly?”
Patient: “Well money is tight right now blah blah blah….”
You: “Well how does the cost compare to actually getting the results you’re wanting though?”
Patient: “I just need some time to think this through.”
You: “Yea that’s not a problem. What’s your time frame on getting back to me in the next day or two just to see if I’d be available for you?”
Patient: “Well, I guess I could call you back later in the week..”
You: “Possibly… I’m not sure I’d be available later this week, I’d have to check my schedule. What I can do if you have your calendar handy, is I could let you schedule something in the next day or two so you don’t have to call me and chase me down and visa versa… would that help you? Also would it make sense to call you with the Doctor’s instruction and chart review if you are approved? And make sure the date is even still available?”
Patient: “Sure.”
You: “Now before I go here, what were you hoping to go over in your mind over the next couple days?” (Get the REAL concern)
Patient: “Can you just email or give me a quote?”
You: “Yea no worries.. What are you hoping to see in a quote? Just so I understand”
Patient: “Well I’d be hoping to see if I have the budget available for this”
You: “Well I’d have to know a bit more about what you’ve used for weight loss in the past and your health, just to see if we can help you in the first place, because maybe you don’t even need us. Have you tried dieting in the past?” (Go to the start of the script and then HQ).
Patient: “Yes.”
You: “If we go over some more of your health what I can do is start putting that quote together for you. Does it make sense to do that?”
Patient: “Well this sounds great, can you just send me some info?”
You: “Yea that’s not a problem, just so I can send you the correct info, what type of information would be helpful for you?”(Find the real concern)
Patient: “Well I want to see X”
You: “Now let’s pretend for a moment you were able to see X and get the information you wanted. What do you see the next steps are from there?”
Patient: “I would like to talk with my [insert who] about this before scheduling”.
You: “Ya that is not a problem. Do you feel like your spouse would be supportive of you in this endeavor? Getting this so that you can lose the weight you want? “
Patient: "Yeah I just really wanna go over it with them."
You: “That’s totally understandable. Could I ask you something? If you went to your [insert who] and shared what you think about this and how important you feel it is for you to get the surgery so you can lose weight. How do you feel they're going to respond?”
Patient: “I think they're gonna be behind me 100%, I just wanna talk to them about it.”
You: “Is there any reason why they would not be behind you in moving forward with scheduling?”
Patient: “Yes or no.”
If no reason:
You: “Yeah! got it. What if we did this, we get you all set up to go, get you onboarded, get you in all scheduled and everything, and then if, on the off chance that they don’t want to support you like you think they will, then we can postpone the date. What do you think if we did that? That way you're being proactive and taking action, but you're also able to talk with your spouse before doing anything permanent. Does that sound good or how would you like to proceed from here?”
Patient: “Yes, ok.” (Stop and schedule.)
Patient: I am not ready to move forward yet.
You: Oh hey, yeah I completely understand. Usually when I hear this, it means I didn't fully explain everything clearly. I apologize for leaving any uncertainty in your mind. This usually means one of two things. I'm not interested or I'm interested, I'm just not sure. May I ask, which one is it?
Patient: “I'm not interested or I'm interested, I'm just not sure”
(If I’m Interested, I’m just not sure) You: Thank you, usually when I hear 'I'm interested, just not sure, it's based on three things. Fit, feature, or finance. So let me ask you, does our services fit all of your needs?
Patient: “Yes or No.”
(If yes) You: “Great, and does our services have all the features you need?”
Patient: “Yes or No.”
(If yes) You: Perfect, let's talk about finance. Is this not a feasible number for you at this time?"
Patient: “Yes or No.”
Patient: “I am already scheduled with another Doctor”.
You: Ya, that is not a problem and in fact that is great. What doctor or company are you scheduled with?
Patient: “Doctor/Company Name”
You: “Ok wonderful, because we work a little bit differently than them can I ask why you chose them?
Patient: “Explains why”.
You: “Thank you for that information, it helps us understand why you did not choose our five star rated, all-inclusive package. If anything changes or you have any issues please don’t hesitate to reach back out to us. We have had a lot of other patients switch to us for peace of mind and other issues. I wish you all the best on your journey.”
Patient: “Can I call you back (or can you call me back later)?”
You: “Sure no problem, just to see if it’s relevant, can I ask you a quick question, why are you inquiring about bariatric surgery?”
Patient: “[Response]”
You: “Ok we hear that from most of our patients. Have you tried dieting or exercising?
Patient: “Yes.”
You: What sort of time were you thinking for a call back so I can check that I’d even be available for you?”
Patient: “I would like to talk with my work about time off before scheduling”.
You: “Ya that is not a problem. Do you feel like your work will be supportive of you in this endeavor? Getting this so that you CAN lose the weight you want? “
Patient: "Yeah I just really wanna make sure I have the date off."
You: ‘Totally understandable. Could I ask you something? If you went to your boss and shared with them what you think about this and how important it is for you to get the time off so you can get healthy, and you shared with them the kind of impact you feel it would have for you and your ability to lose weight. How do you feel they're going to respond?”
Patient: “I think they're gonna be behind me 100%, I just wanna talk to them about it.“
You: “Yeah! got it. What if we did this, we get you all set up to go, get you onboarded, get you in all scheduled and everything, and then if, on the OFF CHANCE that they DON'T want to support you like you think they will, then we can postpone the date. What do you think if we did that? That way you're being proactive and taking action, but you're also able to talk with your work before doing anything permanent. Does that sound good? “
Patient: “Yes, ok.” (Stop and schedule.)
Patient: “[Insert objection].”
You: “Can you tell me what you mean by that exactly?”
Patient: “[Insert explanation]”
You: “Ok thank you for that information. If there was a way you could overcome this, would this work for you?
Patient: “Yes or no.”
(If yes) You: “So tell me why would this work for you?”
You: "I can see that this has made a lot of sense for you today, but it seems like you just might be worried of making a wrong decision. I can completely understand that feeling. May I ask what you feel the worst case scenario would be if you moved forward with us today? And what would you imagine the best case scenario being if we got this process started today?”
Patient: “I’m afraid of [concern]”
You: “Ok, so what I'm hearing is you are fearful that [insert concern] could happen and if I could promise you beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will work above and beyond to meet your needs and ensure the best case scenario every step of the way, would you be willing to set aside your fears for now, and let me prove that this was the right decision for you?"
Patient: “Yes or No.” (If yes, stop and schedule.)
