My journey has been amazing, not necessarily easy, but has got me on the right path for my health. Before I decided on mini bypass, I tried pretty much every diet and diet pill there is. No matter what I did, I could never get under 230lbs. My doctor told me that she thought the only way I would actually lose is surgery. Looked into it in the states, but insurance didn’t cover any of it, so I was lucky enough to find Renew and Dr. Perez.
I had to relearn how to eat, my new stomach likes and dislikes certain things. I am mindful what I eat and hit 80-90g of protein everyday. I need to work on eating more veggies though as I do not really like them too much. I am a full time college student and work full time and have 2 kids so I do not get much free time to workout, but I have been walking about 45 minutes to 1 hour at least 2 times a week. Would
love to start lifting weights. Even without lifting weight or going hardcore on exercise, I am still moving with cleaning house, yard work, and chasing after my young kids.
My weight loss has been steady until about 10 months. I have been at the same weight for the last 3 months. I know I need to eat more greens and drink more water and get in the gym. Because of the surgery and Dr. Perez, I have been able to fit in a bath tub, run around with my kids, focus more while doing homework, and my joints are not so sore and achy. I can cross my legs and find myself sitting that way any chance I get. I look at pictures that people take of me and I don’t hate them; I enjoy getting my picture taken.
